Whalen, Nick

 Hello! My name is Nick Whalen. I am a 6th grade social studies teacher at Washington Technology Magnet. I have been teaching at Washington Tech since 2014, after student teaching here in 2013. In the past, I have also taught 12th grade U.S. Government and History Day enrichment classes in addition to 6th grade Minnesota Studies. 

When I am not at school, my favorite things to do involve finding new places to eat in the Twin Cities, playing recreational sports like volleyball and softball, and watching the Minnesota Twins baseball team. I am a huge baseball fan, and also am a coach for our varsity baseball team here at Washington.

I grew up in and continue to live in St. Paul. I am a graduate of St. Paul Central High School, so it brings me a lot of pride to teach in the district in which I was a student for my whole K-12 education. Saint Paul Public Schools are a part of me, and I am so happy to continue to be a part of the wonderful things that happen in the district. 

Washington Technology Magnet is wonderful school at which I am proud to teach. It brings me great joy to work with our students, especially getting to know them as 6th graders and watching them grow throughout the years towards graduation. It is my hope to continue serving our students for years to come!
