Tyler, Teresa

Ms. Tyler is new to Washington Technology Magnet School but not new to St. Paul Schools. Beginning her teaching career in 1991 after student teaching at Johnson Senior High School, she taught high school English/Language Arts, Speech/Communications, and Theater Arts in California and North Saint Paul Schools for many years before coming to Saint Paul Schools. She earned master's degrees in Theater Arts, General Education, and Special Education from the University of Minnesota, the University of St. Thomas, and Bethel University, respectively. Subjects she has taught in addition to English include mathematics, computer programming, and special education.

When she is not teaching, Ms. Tyler enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, reading, and attending theater events in the Twin Cities. She lives with her husband and two cats (Boo and Mayhem) in a quiet corner of the West End section of St. Paul, close enough to the city to walk to Landmark Center, the St. Paul downtown library, and the Ordway, some of her favorite places to spend time.

Ms. Tyler is delighted to be a part of the Washington Technology staff, especially because she loves technology, and the opportunity to continue learning new, creative, and innovative ways to involve students in English/Language Arts attracted her to this school.
