SCIENCE
Washington Science courses are a key component of the structure at Washington. The core science courses uses the OpenSciEdu curriculum. 6th grade students will explore Earth Science topics. 7th grade students will explore Life Science topics. 8th grade students will explore Physical Science topics.
We also have two signature courses that all students take. In 7th grade, the signature class is Human Bio. In 8th grade, the signature course is Design and Modeling.
We also offer a variety of science electives available for 7th and 8th graders that use the Project Lead the curriculum, which is a hands-on engineering curriculum that provides students with inspiring, engaging, and empowering learning opportunities. Those courses are Design and Modeling, Robotics in Flight and Space, and Energy in the Environment. Students also have the opportunity to take a computer science class.
