Ms. Kathryn Garvey

My name is Kate Garvey and I am excited to be joining the Washington Middle School team as the 6th Grade Assistant Principal.

This will be my 13th year working for SPPS, most recently I have served as the Assistant Principal at Bruce F. Vento. Prior to being an AP, I worked as a third and fourth-grade teacher at Farnsworth Aerospace and Four Seasons Arts as well as Media Specialist and TOSA.

As an educator, I believe that relationships matter and building strong relationships is key to success. I enjoy strong collaboration and am excited to join the team at Washington Middle. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and connecting with friends. Also, as a former student athlete, I enjoy watching youth sports, specifically basketball.
